This imposing ensemble is made up of two robust semicylindrical towers, connected by a central body that houses a large semicircular-arched doorway. Located at the strategic crossroads of Guillén de Castro and Quart streets, the towers remain silent witnesses to the city’s history and heritage, and it is precisely in this enclave that our new project of the same name is situated.
“The flat had a very compartmentalised layout that created very narrow and dark spaces. The main idea of the renovation was to flood the home with light, taking advantage of the free height of 3.40 m and the east–west orientation, linking both façades,” explains Alba, principal architect of the project and owner.

The property was completely emptied, and the floor plan was laid out from scratch. The day area was placed at the entrance, focusing the views towards the Torres de Quart.
“We also wanted to leave the kitchen open and give uses to the passage between the day area and the night area, linking it to the rear patio, which is a quieter area.” To do this, a wide passageway was created, where the kitchen, the walk-in wardrobe, and the access to the bedroom and the main bathroom are now located.
In addition, the original gallery was extended,
by setting back the rear façade to create a terrace, which is accessed through the studio and the bedroom..
With the studio fully linked to the terrace,
we placed the flooring at the same level, giving a sense of spaciousness and interior–exterior coherence, and glass sliding doors that allow natural western light to enter.
