With the arrival of autumn, interiors are transformed into cosy refuges, where comfort, authenticity and personal style prevail over the rigid rules of the past. Our architects and interior designers agree: the homes of this season have soul, history and character; balancing the artisanal with contemporary and fresh solutions.

Decorative styles in balance

One of the great novelties of 2025 is the diversity of styles coexisting in harmony. Warm Japandi evolves towards more textured and welcoming versions, while modern rustic remains on the rise thanks to handcrafted pieces in dark noble woods combined with contemporary lines.

Elegant maximalism allows personal stories to be told through objects, art and textiles, without falling into excess; complemented by Wabi Sabi aesthetics and the artisanal: imperfect ceramics and vintage furniture that add historical depth.

The influence of reinterpreted Art Deco can be seen in glamorous curves and geometric patterns, while a reimagined minimalism brings pure lines and pop accents that inject energy. At the same time, renewed classicism combines woods, rich textiles and wallpapers with saturated, personal palettes, creating timeless and sophisticated interiors.

Colour palettes: warm neutrals combined with a pop of colour

The autumn palette is inspired by nature: warm neutrals such as sand, beige or taupe are mixed with intense earthy tones—clay, terracotta, rust—as a base for more vivid accents such as mandarin orange, burgundy or petrol blue.

Green, in all its shades—moss, sage, eucalyptus—consolidates itself as a central trend, providing serenity and balance. In parallel, cobalt or electric blue introduces modernity and sophistication, ideal in key pieces or details that mark contrast and style.

These colours are distributed strategically: greens and blues in kitchens, warm neutrals with intense accents in living rooms, soft tones in bedrooms and more daring combinations in bathrooms.

Natural materials and textures

This season reinforces the commitment to the organic. Dark noble wood; together with plant fibres such as linen, jute, rattan or wool; remain essential. Stone materials are also incorporated, such as marble or travertine, as well as artisanal glass, to add character and sophistication to interiors.

The use of metals of yesteryear is recovered. Copper, bronze and brass coexist with the return of nickel and chrome in bathrooms and furniture. In addition, mirrors and reflective surfaces, which generate a sense of visual depth and dynamism, multiply the light and add to this retro nod.

Textiles: comfort and layering

Textiles are once again protagonists. Wool, washed linen, hemp and velvet are combined with bouclé or sherpa to create warm and enveloping spaces. The key lies in layering fabrics and patterns—floral, botanical, tartan, retro stripes—coordinated to generate comfort and visual richness without overwhelming. Cushions, throws and curtains work as impactful elements, adding colour and texture.

Walls and furniture with presence

Walls cease to be mere neutral backdrops to become protagonists. This season sees the return of maximalist wallpapers, panoramic murals and techniques such as colour drenching. In kitchens and bathrooms, bolder choices appear, such as zellige tiles, acoustic panels and artisanal claddings.

Furniture follows the architectural trend of ‘organic and enveloping forms’: voluminous sofas, sculptural armchairs and modular pieces take over living rooms and offices. Soft curves displace rigid lines, transforming rooms into warmer, more human and welcoming spaces.

Details and pieces with history

This autumn we celebrate the authentic, the vintage and the imperfect. Retro pieces, artisanal objects, vases with natural veins or inherited works bring personality and a marked emotional depth to interiors. Stainless steel or nickel accessories introduce, in contrast, a contemporary touch that enhances the warmth of noble materials. This season invites us to intertwine the artisanal with the modern, the classic with the personal: a duality that, far from clashing, proves to be balanced and natural.
